  Deep Dish 12.15.99
by Bobble

Venue: Cobalt - Atlanta, GA
Presented by: Cobalt/Sellout

The Deep Dish duoAn absolutely wicked night for Atlanta!! This was my first time to Cobalt and the venue did not disappoint. The door staff seemed cool enough, the bartenders were friendly AND fast, and the club itself is spectacular, despite its Buckhead location.

Got to hear a bit of Little Jen opening up downstairs with her usual eclectic d+b style, then headed onward to the upstairs area, where Patrick Scott was warming things up with some trancey breaks. Tight mixing from Patrick...the first time I've heard him spin.

Cameron Redwine and NasirThe club got comfortably full, but not jam packed, and finally the DEEP DISH duo gave us what we came for. Flawlessly mixed tunes somewhere between deep house and tech house with enough of an aggressive edge to not put you to sleep. At one point they cut loose with some soulful breakbeat based bizness prompting Kevin (Mirage) to pose the question "Bobble, what kind of music IS this???" GOOD music, of course was my reply!

Before the night was over, my "one more cocktail and I won't be driving home" meter kicked on so I had to step out of the place, but for sure I will be back at Cobalt again (and again). LOTS of people dancing (including myself for a while!!), and smiles all around.

Seen LARGIN IT: the dj Gabriel, Encore Christy, the dj Ulises, the man like HUTCH, radiant Ashley (whew...), Jason and Sabrina Lunar, the deejay Gene Carbonell, upcoming dj Jizneffrey, the producer Clay Ivey, and "yes I'll have another" George..." — 'avin it weren't ya mates?
