Let's explore the five freedoms that Americans would lose under Obamacare:
1. Freedom to choose what's in your plan

OK so...

Today, many states require these "standard benefits packages"

So which is it? Is this saying we are already limited to "standard benefits packages"? Because if so it wouldn't make any sense to say Obamacare limits your freedom to choose what's already been appropriated for you.

Confused

2. Freedom to be rewarded for healthy living, or pay your real costs

The idea this rule suggests; that everyone's health care bill should be individually pro-rated for every unique individual lifestyle or health status, seems kind of silly.

The problem with all these "the bill is going to BAN xyz" types of arguments is that so many have cried wolf and yet were proven mostly fallible upon an objective translation of the text. But sure I can see a bill trying to establish a new fee schedule under the guise of the pre-existing condition argument.

I remember back in the campaign it was "OBAMA IS GOING TO TAX ALL HOMEOWNERS 45% OF THEIR INCOME!!!" I used to get that one everyday.

3. Freedom to choose high-deductible coverage
HSA users are far more cost-conscious than customers who are reimbursed for the majority of their care.

I don't know if Obama will have a chance to cut more HSAs before the corporations are allowed to do it themselves out of "necessity".

4. Freedom to keep your existing plan
The bill gives ERISA employers a five-year grace period when they can keep offering plans free from the restrictions of the "qualified" policies offered on the exchanges.

ah the much debated Rule #4!

This is where it seems to get interesting. I'll be looking into more about this....Keep your plan...........for 5 years?? Once again, I will need to verify with the text before I can even move forward on this.

This is the most overstated claim made repeatedly over and over.

#1. If you are in an HMO, you already have limited access to specialists
#2. You always have the option to pay OUT OF POCKET contrary to deranged neo-con belief that Obama is going to ban private healthcare.
