Last I heard VJ it was a European automaker that partnered up with Chrysler. Not the U.S.

That whole article sounds like the same whiny fixed income investors who don't seem to understand what the term "RISK" means. Where is this law that says you are GUARANTEED a return on your fixed income investment?? Oh bond covenants! OK. Contingency based on paying out incompetent executives like Bob Nardelli? hehe I'm HOPING the government is stepping in and preventing that sunofabitch from riding off into the sunset with one god damn cent. Of course nobody really knows the terms of the payouts yet so anybody presenting themselves as having all the facts is simply lying.

Fixed income investors are whining the loudest but this is waaaaaay beyond Dick and Jane fixed income investors. Take a look at who is running Cerebrus and you'll know damn well why this is playing out the way it is. You are only guaranteed a payout if your name starts with Goldman and ends with Sachs. This guy writes a paper and teaches a class from some high horse in Colorado yet he can't even get the title right with respect to what actually happened or the chain of politics involved.

I swear the freaking idiots who have no idea what kind of shit sandwich this whole thing is.

All this bullshit over socialism and contracts and sanctity of free enterprise when talking about the American auto industry is TOTALLY AND COMPLETELY IRRELEVANT! The Chairman of GMAC was running a Madoff feeder fund for Christ's sake!!

Why should anybody take up and defend these type of scumbags or the way they've handled their businesses over the last decade or so?? WHO GIVES A FUCK IF OBAMA SAYS "SORRY ASSHOLES, YOU LOSE"!!?? I sure as hell don't. The people I care more about are the ones who actually make up the lifeblood of the 70% consumer economy we all need to live peacefully. I seriously doubt that Chrysler debt holder elites make up a large percentage of our consumer economy. I hope Bob Nardelli's and John Snow's entire family fortunes are tied up in Chrysler debt and now they get zip zero nada. If those assholes were on fire I wouldn't piss on em.

GIVE ME A BREAK FROM ALL THIS ACADEMIA AND RULES OF THE FREE ENTERPRISE ECONOMY BULLSHIT BECAUSE THEY HAVE LITTLE APPLICATION IN THE WORLD OF THE U.S. AUTOMAKER.

It's been a rigged racket for a long time. If GM, Chrysler, and maybe even Ford had truly been a part of any real free enterprise system they never would have gotten so knee deep in the shit and bitten off more than they could chew in terms of GMAC and multinational sprawl in the first place. THERE IS NO FREE ENTERPRISE when money buys influence, influence gains political favors and the first one out with a billion dollars from the skim wins while the suckers are left to hold the bag and deal with the recklessness of poor leadership. It's the same ENRON model of hypothetical returns that produced the banking crisis.

That's where we are. I'm not scared of anything Obama may introduce because it can't be any worse than the disgraceful performance of this country's leadership when it comes to the American auto industry, (or the integrated oil companies, or the fucking bankers).

We were sold out a long time ago. So spare me with all the tea party crap from the people who are just waking up and smelling the coffee.

WHERE WERE YOU DURING THE ENTIRE MARCH TO FISCAL INSOLVENCY OF RAISING EXPENDITURE WHILE LOWERING REVENUES??

VJ's article wrote:
The banks, the ones that received billions of federal funds, were forced to give up their legal ownership first.

Laughing

I mean holy hell VJ! Why would you post an article from someone who pretends like they know what's going on?? The Banks are the ones taking the major blow below the belt???

LOL!!

Yeah JPM, WFC, GS, BAC, MS, and all they absorbed really look like they're hurting! These guys are getting the absolute fucking hookup as they probably should have all, with the exception of GS, been declared insolvent in their own right by now.

Banks get the infinite bankroll from the Fed but have to give up their ownership in the bullshit auto industry?? Sounds like a sweet deal if you ask me! I would imagine debt ownership in the U.S. auto industry was nothing more than just window dressing. Probably has been something they wanted to dump anyway. Wink

On chavez : no need to be more than just courteous to him. Same with Ahmedinejad and Kim.

You creep towards a fascist society as the government allows private business to be owned by shareholders yet regulates them to the hilt.

However, the american people are so largely STUPID and vapid that anything that stops someone else "from having stuff I dont" is an easy method for gaining power over them. I disagree with the dismantling and monkeying of capitalism here, but it was done before, and will continue. That said, the people largely do want this. Its an envy issue from the lazy.

I don't really want to live amongst these people who are largely lazy, vapid, stupid, and need and want to be controlled.

And yes, I do feel this way and have this contempt with most people I run into out in public. Save your insults for someone else, you won't change my mind or make me feel bad.

No insults here...just admiration. Took the words right outta my mouth Wink

No he was smiling because he finally has someone who thinks like he does in the Presidents office.

That's sensationalist crap and you know it.

In two years, the government will not own any of Chrysler or be messing with Chrysler. By that time, the only involvement the government will have is waiting around for the loans to be paid back.

how can you say that? with your liberal crystal ball?

Yeah Jason.. you need to recalibrate your liberal crystal ball... It was two years and 3 weeks after your prediction before the last of the Treasury's stake in Chrysler was bought out.
